Job Description – Procurement Officer (FTC 12 Months)
Role Summary
Reporting to the Procurement Manager,
The Procurement Officer is responsible for assessing products, services and suppliers and negotiating contracts. They are also responsible for ensuring that approved purchases are of a sufficient quality and are cost-efficient.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain management, or related field.
- Professional qualification from CIPS procurement is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on fresh produce (highly preferred).
- Strong understanding of fresh produce market dynamics, seasonality, and quality standards.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with procurement software (a plus).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
